What to expect on your first visit.
At Fowler Chiropractic we are committed to creating a treatment plan that will
best fit your lifestyle needs. During your first visit, Dr. Monica will start by
getting any and all medical history, past and present. The more information
you give her the better she can access your spine or areas of concern. She
will also perform thorough orthopedic and neurological exams where she will
be looking for muscle weakness, numbness, nerve impingements and
decreased range of motion. X-Rays will be taken at the office, if necessary.
Dr. Monica believes education on chiropractic care is also an important part of
the healing process; she will not perform treatment until she explains her
findings and the necessary treatment she believes will help you and your
wellness goals.
Your adjustment will be of the entire spine along with extremities, if needed. She uses various techniques to make the adjustments comfortable and allow your spine and body functioning at its optimal potential. Adjusting Techniques include: Thompson, Gonstead, Diversified and Activator Method.

Experienced and proven techniques
At Fowler Chiropractic one of the following method approach may be best for your care:
Chiropractic Adjustments
Subluxation: Misalignment of the vertebrae that may be causing nerve interference. Chiropractors locate, analyze and correct Subluxations making sure the nervous system is able to function at its optimal potential. Rather than treating the symptoms, we get to the underlying problem.
During a chiropractic adjustment you may hear “popping and cracking”. We call these “audibles”. When a misalignment is present in the spine, excess gaseous pressures are built up and when the adjustment is made, those pressures are released.
Causes of Subluxation/Misalignment
Three things that can cause a Subluxation:1. Emotional stress
We all have busy schedules, work, getting kids to school, sports etc. These can cause muscles to tighten up and misalign vertebrae.
2. Chemical Stress
Things we put in our body that isn’t supposed to be there; Pain medication, high blood pressure meds, high cholesterol medication etc.
3. Physical Stress
Physical stress can be anything from an auto accident to slips and falls, sitting for long periods of time, cleaning house, getting in and out of your car, sleeping, lifting, bending, twisting, picking up your children etc. These are all hard on your spine and muscles.
